Bio:
My name is Matthias Pavlov, my father in from Prague and my mother is from Flanders, Belgium. I grew up in the country side right at the border of Brussels.
My parents raised me in a way that made me appreciate nature from a very early age. Because my father lived in Madagascar for some years, my earliest wildlife related memories are about Lemurs and chameleons in the forest and the warm African ocean filled with extraordinary sea creatures. As a teen, I was lucky enough that my parents continued to show me the natural wonders of the planet and teach me to respect and protect them. I started travelling for modelling when I also started studying Bio engineering at the Ghent University, agricultural and botanical engineering to be more specific. In my third year of Uni, I finally decided to travel to Africa on my own for my first wildlife volunteering experience. This trip changed my life. I have always greatly looked up to and been immensely inspired by David Attenborough, Steven Irwin and other wildlife reporters. Not only do they contribute personally to wildlife conservation, they also inspire millions of people to do so. I never thought I could one day be in that position...until I made my first short videos on instagram and unexpectedly inspired some people to have a volunteering experience of their own or just be more fascinated by fauna and flora in general. From that point on, I realized that I only needed a camera, a tripod, the internet, a lot of willpower, passion, and research to make meaningful wildlife videos. Even though, I’m still far from my dream of one day being a full time wildlife reporter/documentary maker and conservationist, there is currently nothing else I love doing more than making animal related videos. If I get to inspire even just one person doing so, it already gives the greatest satisfaction.
